monday was not blue at all
I spent an awfully pleasant evening with Yeelian, Keng and Eileen. Even though Chiying and Carlin failed to join us due to some last-minute hiccups, I really enjoyed myself. It is always fun meeting up with the STC girls. We'd chat and laugh through the night whenever we meet up. It seems that we never run out of topics to talk about. I hope that I will be able to continue to meet up with them even when I start working. It's just how amazing that how the girls and I manage to stick around with one another almost a decade and we're still on talking terms with one another.
I'm really glad that I have this bunch of friends whom I can always have fun with and confide in. I'd say that I started this week well because I had a good weekend too. My brother was released from Tekong after two weeks of orientation in the training centre. We spent sometime together. Most of the time, he was telling us how he spent his two weeks in there. I am relieved that he has taken a more positive perspective on BMT. When we drove him to Pasir Ris bus interchange on Sunday, one of his friends waited for him there. At least, he could find a friend whom he can possibly rely on. I also managed to play mahjong on Saturday; but not with the usual suspect - angus. His dad was hospitalised and the mahjong session with him was cancelled. Hoepfully his dad is okay now.
Coincidentally, Mr Wu's primary school classmates asked him to play mahjong and they are the friends of his whom I've met once. We went to Laura's place to play mahjong and tried the automated mahjong table for the first time in my life! LOL. Even though there were some technical glitches (hehe), it was fun to play on an automated mahjong table. And we took a picture of it:

I thought it was pretty cool. Hehe, but because there were some problems, we switched to the traditional mahjong table where we had to arrange the tiles manually. To be honest, I still prefer the manual shuffling and arranging of tiles because part of it makes the mahjong game complete? That's how I feel. I guess I'll be giving mahjong a miss this weekend because poor Mr Wu will only be freed from his reservist on Saturday evening. That'd leave us no time to play mahjong then. *sniff sniff* Anyway, I think my mahjong luck is turning a bit better. I won on last Saturday - one house ate three houses. Hehe, not alot
LAH - 14 dollars. (could have been better though!)
Where my job hunting is concerned, I got a call from Sharon today. She told me that the job application is still in the midst of processing; a high likelihood that it'll be approved. That means I'll get to start work for Barclays on 7th August. And it coincidentally lands on the last day of Mr Wu's internship. LOL. While I celebrate the end of misery for him, he celebrates the start of misery for me. How ironic! I guess, since I haven't gotten any luck in finding job, that leaves me with no choice but to take this job. I'm praying that the job will give me a lot of exposure and boost my resume further.
Most importantly, I pray hard that there will be a chance of converting into a permanent position when the contract finishes.
