butterflies in the stomach

Today is gonna be my last day of holidays! I'll be starting work tomorrow, officially. I guess it's time to move on. Seriously, I feel a bit worried about going to work tomorrow. I was supposed to start work on the 7 August. Last week, Sharon called me and asked for my help to take over a lady who took urgent sick leave. I am needed to work London shift from 1600 - 0100 for a month. I think there are pros and cons doing the later shift as opposed to the normal Asia Pac shift.

As most of you may know, I sleep late at night and wake up late also. This shift may well suit my daily sleeping routine. LOL. I am also paid extra 40 dollars of allowance and this amount excludes taxi reimbursement. The pros are just mentioned. As for the cons, I guess it will affect my social life a little bit. For instance, I won't be able to go for Lilian's housewarming party this coming Friday. When everyone is off from work and enjoying, I will be working. It'll be hard to meet up with friends for the next 1 month. That includes Mr Wu too. In that case, I would think that my weekends will be so packed since all the social activities will be pushed to the weekends.

It's been such a long time since the last time I worked. The last time was my internship at PIAS. That was in Dec 2007 and it's been almost 8 months since then. I'm quite worried about adjusting myself to a new place. This time, I'll be staying at Barclays Capital for 7 months. What should I expect after 7 months? I really don't know. Hopefully I will be able to cope with the PEOPLE and WORK there. I spoke to people about worrying for my work tomorrow. They all told me to take things as it comes and that everything will be fine. Perhaps it's true. Sometimes I could just be worrying over nothing for all I know.

I'd like to keep work out of my mind for now.

Anyway, happy birthday to Mr Wu! It's his birthday today. Besides him, it's also Yen's birthday. Well, speaking of it, I haven't bought Mr Wu's present at all yet. I was shopping yesterday for myself and as well as for his present too. Instead of buying him tops, I felt like getting something else for him. But nothing just came to my mind. It was our 6 months' anniversary yesterday and I made him a video of us. The video showed a story of how we began and got into a relationship. I'm glad that he loved the video. Hopefully he doesn't have to work late tonight so we can go somewhere else.
