the so-so weekend

It's already Sunday. I spent my Saturday in an utterly boring sense. Well, I guess it couldn't be helped since Mr Wu was called back by the army. Actually, it was still well-spent if I look at it from another perspective. I visited my grandmother's place and spent around an hour there. She had a fall recently and has not been able to walk much since then. My grandmother lost a lot of weight because she doesn't eat that much anymore too. I do pity her even though I don't really like her that much sometimes. It's a little mean to be saying this; but there are some things which she did that made me bear the grudge against her. Hmm, of course, I still respect her as much as I can since she is getting on in years. Hopefully she recovers quickly and be charged with full energy to scream at us again. LOL.

After visiting my grandmother, I had dinner with my family somewhere nearby my place. What? Curry fish head. It is one of my mom's favourite dishes and we ordered claypot toufu, sambal kangkong and sweet & sour pork. I must say that; my area isn't recommended for thumbs-up standard zhi char. For as long as I've lived in Havelock Road, I have not found any zhi char stall. It's quite sad; isn't it? Most people seem to think Tiong Bahru is famous for its abundance of good food. I highly think that it is a general misconception. Despite the fact that I did not meet Mr Wu on Saturday, the day was well-spent as I got to spend it with my brother, sister and mother. So, Mr Wu, don't think you're irreplaceable alright? Hehe... just kidding!

We headed to town after the dinner and I bought a pair of shoes from Pazzion to go with the evening dress that I had it tailor-made. Hehe, I will show it here after I take a picture of it. I was so lucky to find a pair of shoes which goes well with the dress at an affordable price. It costs me 60ish. I'm pretty excited about seeing the final product of the dress in 2 weeks' time. Be sure that I'll post a picture of it here. Hehe...my brother bought a pair of shoes to match his suit as well. All these money are spent because .... my sister is getting married. Oh man, I think it's so expensive when a family member gets married. You have to make sure you look your best so as not to embarrass him or her. Dress up to nines to fit in and impress... of course, we shouldn't steal the limelight away with something 'too much'. I spent about 250 in all for the dress and shoes. It might not be a lot but ... I still feel the pinch!

I mean, I'd rather spend 250 on something else. I can buy a lot of things with 250... I feel the pinch badly especially when I know that half of my upcoming pay will be used to pay off debts. I think I'll be more frugal in September. I was still thinking of buying a digital camera; maybe I should put the idea aside first. Grr....
This is bad. I think I will live on bread the next month... Lol.

Speaking of which, September will be the last month that I am doing London shift. I wonder if it's a good or bad thing for me. Maybe it's a good thing to move on... it doesn't seem like the place that I belong to. I was quite disappointed with my supervisor who sort of 'threw' me at the deepest end of the pool to fend for myself when DH was on leave on last Friday. Frankly, I didn't think I was good enough to handle phone queries yet. He didn't offer to help me with them and he just thought I knew certain things when I haven't even been taught. There were some things which people questioned me and I was so helpless. That DH always says that you learn the most when you're thrown at the deepest end of the pool. Hmmm, the thing is, I feel that there might be some basics which I haven't been taught in handling phone queries and he left me to fend for myself.

Well, maybe he was busy with his work. That is one of the reasons you can think up. Hmmm...I didn't think of that. Being busy with his work - I thought it was an ugly reason. I don't know what to comment on this. I thought he was a nice person; but it seems like what happened on Friday is starting to prove otherwise. Perhaps like what DH said, I am not used to working life and the people I work with yet.

I need time to adjust.

What is the fastest way to do so? Observe more and talk less? I think the more you talk, the higher the likelihood of saying the wrong things. LOL... somehow I don't think I am talking a lot in office.

I guess observing more leads - the key to adjusting to how people work things there.
