thus far in barcap
It's already my 2nd week here at barcap. I'm getting a little drained from work especially the work is getting routine. I feel as though nothing has moved in my brains and this is why I understand that why my partner told me that he might be leaving soon. Well, I wonder if the confirmations team is really that bad. My supervisor told me that it isn't the team to be in. I was so skeptical there. I mean, if it isn't, why did he choose to join the team in the first place? Was he not given any choice then?
Somehow, I started believing in the fact that things will go smoothly for you if everyone likes you. If people do not like you, they wouldn't be on your side should anything bad happen. There was a farewell party for Moses yesterday. I could tell that he is really well-liked and now, there is even a possibility that he could go on the graduate program. He told me that Sharon has submitted his name to apply for the program. If you have connections, you can be the King/Queen any moment. If you do not have, you're destined to be ... a peasant. This is exactly how I feel now. No doubt the reality is harsh.
My mother told me that you need to build 'rapport' with your superiors before you can expect promotions. Well, I feel so sorry for myself that I am not good at doing this. I have a lot to learn. The thing I need to learn most is to say things that will be pleasing to one's ears. It's hard to find friends when you start work for you never know who is true to you.
I think that everyone is masked at work. It's only a matter of who can paint the most beautiful mask to stand out.
Enough of work and the masks.
I am so glad that I met Mr Wu for dinner yesterday. We had some issues few days back and now the dark skies have cleared up. Somebody was so silly; I heard.
He kissed the display picture on his mobile - the picture of CarrouseL. LOL. Oops, again, I've embarrassed Mr Wu. Ever since I started work, we haven't been spending much time together. Sometimes, I feel that the weekends are not enough too. If we are playing mahjong, our friends will be around too. It will not private time we're spending together. I miss those times when both of us were still schooling together. We had so much more time together then.
Poor Mr Wu has not been sleeping well since CarrouseL started work. He misses her so much everyday that he'd stay up to wait for her to get home to talk to him over the phone. Hehe...
I'm so appreciative of his efforts considering his ultimate piggy-like nature.
By the way, I am thinking of adding song to the blog. Does anyone know how to do so? Candy, do you know?! Hehe... let me know if you do. I'll need your help in this. I know you know how to do alot of things with the blog.
Can't wait for the weekend to be here. I'm sure the working class hopes for the same too.
Only 2 more days to end of the work week. Let's hang in there!
