the grumps

It's been a long time since the last entry?!

For regular readers, I must have brought disappointment to you since there has not been any new entry since last week.

I've been so busy at work this whole week. In fact, it's a shit week. The mistakes I made and the time I wasted of other people needed to clear up my mess made me feel terrible. Coupled with the fact that volume has been high the past few days, it certainly did not make me feel any better because I worked late everyday for this week!

I've been so grumpy. Brr.. the air conditioning system at my office is ridiculously screwed up. I've NEVER ever felt warm in the office. My hands will be icy cold within half of the day. It has been like this since I started work. I refused to put any blame on my not-so-fit body system. The weather was hot in the afternoons when I went out for lunches. Having exposed to extreme hot and cold environments, any normal human being is bound to fall sick anytime soon. Yeap, myself. I am normal, not weak!

I've been wondering when I would get sick because I do think that it's almost time. I mean, I haven't fallen sick for sometime. Well, it just seems a little bit abnormal because I am highly susceptible to health problems. So now here I am down with a nasty bout of flu which brings me frequent sneezes!

* -- Carrousel lets off a long sigh --- * and she writes on:

I wanted to take sick leave today. But I do think that it'll be mean to leave my colleague to cover for me. The manager took a week of MC. and a team mate took 3 days off. The team is short of manpower. I had no intention of crippling the team further. Erm, come to think of it, I might not even have the capacity to do so. Afterall, my role in the team isn't exactly that significant and I'm dispensable! JG from AP setts had to cover my colleague who went on a 3-day leave. Apparently, JG used to do Singapore MM processing. I was surprised when I heard this from my colleague. No wonder he seems to know flow of treasury processing at his fingertips.

Working is not just about qualifications. All that JG has comes with experience and can never be earned by anyone that easily.

He probably will make it far in the team I guess.

But I don't really fancy him that much. I've heard so many tales about him. He's just another person to be added onto my list which I have to be aware of.

It seems that an opportunity has once knocked on my door again.

Come what may, I'll take it in stride. It is just a shame that I have to go through the process all over again.

I abhor it to the extreme.

As much as I do, nothing I can do to improve a situation in which I have no choice at all.

The people I am working with are nice people on the surface... but when it comes to work, I think we have clashing working styles.

I miss the graveyard shift times. Unfortunately, I doubt I'll have any chance to work with them again for the fact that I know I'll never accept to do any graveyard shift again.

People come and go. A new girl joined the NDF team to replace DH. The new girl, Sophia, joined in our farewell celebration for DH last week. LOL.

Here's a picture of the complete NDF confo family:

The girls left early that night. I didn't think there was much to do at the sleazy place. LOL. I had a shock of my life when DJL brought us there. His friend owns the pub. The pub was filled with Filipinos and some lecherous uncles? LOL. Now we have a better understanding of DJL weekend lifestyle!

Nevertheless, I had fun and enjoyed myself. I hope DH had fun too. I am gonna miss him! Haha, I know that he'll be reading this and he regards my blog entries as bedtime stories for him.

Since he'll read anyway, I want to tell him here that...

I really appreciate the help he gave me when I felt so lost like a sotong... to be honest, he' s my 1st friend I have at Barcap whom I can trust and talk to. And of course... closely accompanied by his Dawn Yeo look-alike crush. LOL.

Thanks for making my short stay at NDF such a fun one, Chris! The silly jokes we shared... and the team spirit you 've always emphasized, I'll remember it DEEP DEEP! *giggles* Sorry that I always left before you ... but hey, there were times I waited for you too okay?! Remember that!

Thanks for the snacks you bought me all the time... the coffee bean cakes, the starbucks... I'm so going to miss the smell of caesar salad that you always eat... miss having nobody to call "Hi Chris!" in my high pitch tone along with my bright smile AND OUR GOSSIP SESSIONS!

** (right, I better not say some more. If not, Mr Wu will get jealous here!) **

Last but not least, I hope no more "PORK" for you! Haha. Better study hard for your CFA; pass with flying colours! Good luck for it!

I must help you find your "happiness". Haha... I will keep a look out for you!

You must meet up with us soon okay? Enjoy your infinite break in the meantime.

Oh my god. I still have so much to update but time is slipping away so quickly and my biological clock tells me that it's almost time for bed.

That's all for now, folks!
