don't cry for me
Like anyone else, the weekend was not enough for me to enjoy. I wish it could be longer. Alternatively, I can call in sick tomorrow. Not quite possible because I did so last Monday. I've no wish to do it again; at least not anytime soon. LOL.
I am glad that I managed to do quite a bit of stuff this weekend. I 've finally settled most of the procedures on my end for the maid application. My sister drove me down to the maid agency yesterday so that we could submit the documents required and signed the necessary documents at the agency. The person-in-charge showed us a picture of the Myanmese maid which my auntie chose. She looked rather pleasant.. the only thing which worried me was her size. She looked small-built and doesn't seem to me that she would have the energy to help my grandmother on and off her bed for toiletary needs.
Frankly, we suspected that the maid may not understand and speak English well. Her previous employer terminated the contract with the agency because the maid had communication problems with the employer's family. How could anyone as stupid as my auntie and uncle to pick this maid? I've no idea how they're going to communicate with this maid. I'll just leave it up to them. Though I am one of the sponsors for the maid, I've no wish to trouble myself with trivial matters related to the maid. I just pray and hope that nothing would go wrong.
I guess I've got much to think about especially about work. I did my work appraisal this week and I did not really get a good feeling out of this. My colleague next to me told me that there shouldn't be a need to do appraisals at all because the grade is already determined before you start your appraisal. I was pretty shocked. It tells me that my grade will not be changed no matter how well I do my appraisal. If that is the case, what is the point of writing all the good and the bad things in the appraisal? I've got no problem with self-appraisal, it was the upward appraisal which got me stuck for a long time. How on earth am I supposed to be diplomatic when my manager shows mood swings half the time? No choice, life goes on. Put away those unpleasant moments and most importantly, do not burn your own bridges. The appraisal I 've done was solely for reconciliation role. That goes to say that no matter how much effort I put in for Trade Support role, it wouldn't be recognised as well. People work for different motivations. For me, I need recognition to move on (besides the salary lah)
Speaking of which, I've yet to complete my manual. I'm seriously in no mood to do it anymore. Sometimes, I just do not feel appreciated for my efforts at work. No matter what, I need to throw up at least a few thousand more words by mid July. It doesn't sound tough but it is indeed tough. It is hard to do it during work because I do have to juggle my time between reconciliation and Trade Support role. I hardly have time for anything else. When weekends come, I just want to enjoy and not think of work. It takes a lot of discipline to work on weekends, I realise.
It's time I should lose some weight before I go to HKG. LOL, I heard that the dim sum are fantastic at cheap prices.. I'm so going to gorge when I get to HKG. Shopping is still my priority I guess.
I can't, I can't, I can't wait to go HKG ! I just heard from my sister that we'll be going on SIA A380! I'm so excited! LOL. Two more weeks to go...
My sister and I are still in the midst of discussing the hot spots to go to do our shopping spree. I'm also checking with people who have been to HKG as well, not forgetting my beloved Lilian who is a Hong Konger herself! I guess the only thing I'll miss most about SG when I'm in HK would be HIM.
OKAY, I must be too clingy now. Come to think of it, I won't be seeing so much of him in July. He'll be going for a week of ICT (20-24 July, yes, he won't be around on my birthday! :( ) and I'll be going to HKG as well.
Though a week of ICT and a 5D4N trip do not add up a big part of July, I'll still miss HIM.
This is something about love.
