with this much I can say
There is really too much on my mind recently, or at least for the past two weeks. Most of it were family-related stuff. My grandmother had a surgery a week ago. Apparently, she fell down a few times and dislocated her hip bone. All along, she has been sleeping over at my eldest uncle's place at night. He told us that she fell down a few times and my uncles did not think it was anything serious until she could hardly stand up. I suppose the injury got worse because my uncles moved her around even though her hip was injured. After close to 5 hours' of wait at A&E, the doctor told us that she had to go for a surgery to be able to walk. He explained that there could be risks involved because of her age.
I was by her bed that night and saw that she was in great pain. I felt really sad that she had to suffer so much pain at her age. Despite the unpleasant things she've ever done or said, it doesn't matter anymore now because I'd never expect a fiery woman to be reduced to such state. What got to me was that none of her children except my dad cared much about her well-being. Her favourite son did not even visit her after her surgery. I never thought that my eldest uncle would be so heartless. He was the only person my grandmother asked for when she woke up from the surgery.
When she finally got discharged from the hospital, my dad was the only one who picked her up. How can they ever be so selfish?
The decision to hire a maid to take care of my grandmother came when the doctor told us she needed someone to take care of her toiletary needs. That was one of the issues which got me badly heated up. Nobody wanted to take up the responsibility to apply for a maid at the agency. The maid application is still pending and has been pending for two weeks. Her favourite son said that he'd take up the responsibility but till now, we have yet to hear anything. She still sleeps over at his place and he did not take good care of her. No painkiller was given to her and her and nobody changed her diapers for her. He called and asked my mom to shower my grandmother and change her diapers instead. Not that my mother would mind doing so for her, but he should at least have some responsibility towards his own mother.
I was totally disappointed with the way he treated my grandmother.
I realised that one will only know who are the ones who really care when one is sick. I wish they'd stop talking big and get down to some action for the benefit of my grandmother and their own mother.
Here I am, not feeling very well either. Time of the month has caused really bad cramps this time. I was shopping with my mom at Vivo City today and the cramps hurt so badly that I could hardly walk properly. I'm considering if I should get an MC and just rest at home tomorrow. Most likely I'll end up at work. Lol, I guess I'm still a big workaholic!
The weekend is almost over. It's a pity that this weeken wasn't that pleasant. I hope the next one will be better.
Maybe I should start planning happy activities. Hehe, I just wanna mahjong and shop! Actually I did that this weekend as well. I was out yesterday till this morning 5am to play mahjong with Mr Wu and friends. Luck was on my side yesterday... it was a good game. Though I enjoyed the mahjong session yesterday, I felt bad as well. It's a long story to be told here.. another time I guess.
As for shopping, I bought a vest from Zara today and I really like it! Can't wait to wear it soon...
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that spread of flu cases will be contained in HKG so that I can still go ahead with HKG trip!
I'm so looking forward to shopping in HKG!!
