selfish

I never thought I could place the word 'selfish' on his face until today.

I was excited when he asked me if I could apply for AL on 10 Jan. I checked my team calendar and realized that one of my team mates had already applied for leave on the day. Since he initiated this, I thought he must have something nice planned up for me.

I went an extra mile to ask my team mate if she could give up the leave to me (provided if she doesn't have any plans yet). She agreed to do so for me.

Little did I know, boyfriend asked because he was forced to clear his leave desperately. It was all due to his poor leave planning 2010.

I was really disappointed and I really felt he was selfish.

All along, I had been the one initiating to take leave together. Many times, he either told me that those days were either taken up by colleagues or his colleagues would tell him they needed urgent leave on the days he planned for leave with me. I was always upset with him because of this. Why couldn't he plan his leave earlier? Why couldn't he be the Devil sometimes? As a result, I was often forced to take leave ALONE most of the time this year.

And right now, because he had to clear his leave urgently, he is bringing me and my team mate inconvenience.

In the first place, why couldn't he be more firm with his colleagues on leave taking? I was really pissed. He wanted to be nice to his colleagues at ANYONE's expense, including mine, his own girlfriend.

I don't know how much I mean to him. Or rather, all these just made me feel that he's taking me for granted.

Why the hell he puts his colleagues interests above mine?

It's him who is making me hate his inconsiderate colleagues. Yet he thinks there is something wrong with me whenever I get upset over this whole leave planning thing.

I'd hate to do comparison at this point in time. But when I see how my fellow colleague (a male) already applied for leave (many months in advance) on the important dates (such as anniversary, spouse's birthday), I just couldn't help but feel that my partner is lousy at planning ahead.

If he can suck at planning ahead for such a small thing, I don't know what big plans we can have in future.

Nothing in future.
