an unforgettable lunch session
I had an unforgettable lunch with my VP on Tuesday. Yeap, it was a one-to-one. I was filled with shock when she announced her resignation two weeks ago. Strangely, I felt a little tinge of sadness in me despite the fact I had never liked her management style.
What took me aback was, she initiated a lunch appointment with me. We talked a lot; so much that I was surprised that I could talk to her this much?
When I got home from work that day, I thought that if I had taken an extra mile to understand her earlier, things would be much better. Perhaps, there wouldn't have been so many misunderstandings about her at work. It is probably too late now.
She told me that she called for the lunch to share with me how she felt about my work performance and progress. Of course, I took the chance to ask her on my improvement areas. As I expected, people management is something I need to work on badly.
I am happy for her. She told me that she finally had the chance to move on to do things that she had always wanted to try.
Well... she was right. Operations is definitely something which both of us do not want to do for good. She had found something right for her. When will it be my turn?
I am tired and grumpy now. Time for me to bed.
